Professor Okesina, a Chemical Pathologist, was born on October 11, 1954. He graduated with Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the University of Lagos in 1980. He became a Fellow of Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria in 1988 and Fellow of West African College of Physicians in 1989.

He did clinical attachment at the Institute of Neurology Queen Square, London and East Surrey Hospital between 1987 and 1988. From 1991 to 1993, he was a Commonwealth Medical Research Fellow in Clinical Endocrinology at Hammersmith Hospital and Royal Postgraduate Medical College in London.

He was appointed Lecturer I at the University of Ilorin in 1989, Reader in 1994 and Professor of Chemical Pathology in 2000. He was appointed Consultant, Chemical Pathology to the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital in 1989.

Okesina became Head of Department in 2000-2004 and Dean, Faculty of Basic Medical Science, College of Medicine, University of Ilorin from 2004 – 2007. In 2007, he was appointed foundation Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Osun State University from 2007 to 2011.

Okesina has many scholarly publications in local and international Medical Journals. He received International Federation of Clinical Chemistry International Bursary Award 1996; Commonwealth Medical Fellowship Award 1991; National Honours Award (Post NYSC) 1982; Oyo State Merit Award scholarship for University Education 1976 and Odo-Otin Local Government Scholarship for Secondary Education in 1968.

He has supervised several Fellowship Dissertations and has over seventy publications. The Professor has trained and supervised thesis of six Professors, two of whom are currently serving as Deans. He is currently the President of African Federation of Clinical Chemists.

He is happily married and blessed with children.

Olukoya Ogen is a Professor of History at Osun State University, Osogbo as well as a Visiting Senior Research Fellow to the Department of African Studies and Anthropology, University of Birmingham (2012-17).

 

He holds a PhD in History from the University of Lagos, and a Certificate in Trade, Growth and Poverty from the World Bank Institute, Washington D.C. He was a Leventis Scholar at SOAS, University of London in 2008, a British Academy Visiting Fellow at the University of Birmingham in 2009, a CWAS Visiting Fellow in 2010, and an American Council of Learned Societies (AHP) Postdoctoral Fellow in 2011.

He was also a Guest Researcher at Fourah Bay College, University of Sierra Leone in 2011. Prof. Ogen is currently the Country Director of a 5-year European Research Council Grant on ‘Everyday Religious Encounters and Social Identities in Southwest Nigeria.’ He has won numerous foreign travel fellowships / grants for paper presentations at conferences and for research visits to several universities across the globe. With over 60 publications to his credit, Prof. Ogen also sits on the editorial boards of major local and international journals. He co-founded African Nebula with Prof. Samar Habib in 2010.

He is a Member of Faculty Row, a US-based exclusive global elite network of distinguished and super professors that accepts new members by invitation only. Prior to joining Osun State University in 2009, Prof. Ogen had stints at the University of Lagos, 2000-2001, Adekunle Ajasin University, 2001-2006, and Obafemi Awolowo University, 2006-2009.

He is a member of several research  networks including the Association of Commonwealth Universities Research Management Network, African Borderlands Research Network and the Organisation for Historical Research in Nigeria. Prof. Ogen is a Senate elected representative on the Governing Council of Osun State University and the current Dean of the Faculty of Humanities.

 Prof. Janet Olubukola Olaitan joined the services of Osun State University, Osogbo, Nigeria in 2008. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology from Lagos State University in 1992 and subsequently Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy in the same discipline in 1997 and 2005 respectively from University of Ibadan. Dr. Olaitan started her carrier as an Assistant lecturer with University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (UNAAB) in 1999 and rose to Lecturer I.

In terms of administrative responsibilities, Prof. Olaitan was the pioneer Coordinator and Acting Head of Department of Biological Sciences of the University between 2008 and 2011. She served as the Acting Dean of Student Affairs between 2011 and 2013. She became the pioneer Acting Dean of Basic and Applied Sciences in 2013. She is currently the Dean of Basic and Applied Sciences and Provost, College of Science, Engineering and Technology. She has Academic papers published in both Local and International Journals and has attended many Conferences within and outside the country.

 Bolaji Olumuyiwa Omitola, a professor of political science is currently the Dean, Faculty of the Social Sciences, Osun State University, Nigeria. Prior to this appointment Dr. Omitola served as Director, Entrepreneurial Studies, Acting Dean, Students' Affairs of the University and Head of Department of Political Sciences in the College of Management and Social Sciences of Osun State University, Okuku Campus. Prof. Omitola attended University of Lagos, Lagos from 1987 to 1991 for his undergraduate education programme and University of Ibadan, Ibadan for his postgraduate programmes between 1993 and 2008. He obtained Bachelor of Science, Political Science (with Second Class Upper Division) in the year 1991; Masters in Political Science (with Specialisation in Public Administration) in 1994 and PhD in Political Science in 2008.

Dr. Omitola started his teaching career in The Polytechnic, Ibadan in 1994 as an Associate Lecturer in General Studies. He later joined the service of Olabisi Onabanjo University in 1996 as Assistant lecturer in the Department of Political Science in 1996. In the year, 2010, he joined the service of Osun State University and became the Acting Head of Department of Political Science in April of the year 2010.

Prof. Omitola lectures and conducts research in the following areas: political institution, comparative politics and public administration. This is reflected in his research that have interrogated issues like Nigerian federalism, party system and political parties conflicts, ethnicity,    ethno-regional agitations, religious fundamentalism, resource distribution, terror and security. He is involved in various committees assignment within the university.

He has published in local and international journals and peer reviewed books. Dr. Michaeline Asuquo Isawumi received her MBBCh degree from University of Calabar in 1989, MSc Community Eye Health 2002 from University College London, Fellows Nigeria Post graduate Medical College 2003, Fellows West African College of Surgeons 2004, Fellow International College of Surgeons 2007. This was followed by subspecialty fellowship in Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus obtained from L V Prasad Eye Institute, Hyderabad, India 2009. She is currently an Associate Professor. She has been the Acting Head of Department of Surgery since 2012, and the Acting Dean of the Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences in 2012- 2014, and 2015 to date.

Professor Akintayo Dayo Idowu is currently the Dean, Faculty of Management Sciences. He was born four decades ago at Odeomu township in Ayedaade Local Government Area of Osun State. He attended Community Grammar School. Ayetoro Tonkere between 1981-1985, where he obtained O/Level School Certificate with distinction.

 

He further attended the then Oyo State College of Arts and Sciences (now Osun State College of Sciences), Ile-Ife between 1986-1988, where he obtained Advanced Level WAEC Certificate. He further his education to the University of Ibadan, Ibadan, where he obtained B.Ed English Studies certificate with Second Class Upper Division between  1989-1992.

He served his nation between 1992-1993 through  the NYSC programme where he served as the Corps Liaison Officer in Enugu State. He got the award as the best Corper of the year. He advanced in his education by obtaining Academic Master Degree certificate in Social Welfare between 1994-1995 at the University of Ibadan, Ibadan. He enrolled for Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) at the University of Ibadan, Ibadan in 1997. He completed his PhD Degree programme in  year 2000 with specialization in Industrial Relations and Human Resource Management.

He further bagged his Bachelor of Theology (BTh) and Master of Theology (MTh) at the Christian Theological Seminary, Ibadan, between 1995-1996 and 2001-2002 respectively. He registered for post Doctoral master degree in Managerial Psychology, at the University of Ibadan, Ibadan, between 2002-2004. He joined the service of Olabisi In a banjo University Ago-Iwoye in Year 2002 as a Research Fellow II. As a result of his outstanding research outputs, he was regraded to the grade level of Research Fellow I in year 2003.

He was promoted to the position of Senior Research Fellow in year 2006. In year 2009, he was employed as an Associate Professor of Human Resources Management by Osun State University, Osogbo. Thus he became the pioneer acting Head of Department of Human Resource Management at Okuku Campus. He got. his Professorial Chair in Osun State University, Osogbo in year 2012. He is currently the Head of Okuku campus of Osun State University.

Professor AkIntayo has attended some local, National and International Conferences. He has published over Sixty journal articles in both local, National and International reputable refereed journals. He is gainfully married and blessed with children. He is currently the Dean. Faculty of Management Sciences and the Head of Okuku Campus. He has taught courses at both Diploma, Undergraduate and Postgraduate levels in the University.

Tunde Decker is Dean of the Faculty of Humanities. He is Professor of African Social History and Everyday Life. He researches the thoughts, emotions, self-apprehensions, and memory of everyday people in colonial and postcolonial periods and examines how these people engage society in their consciousnesses. His researches have been funded by the Leventis Foundation in London, the Africa-Oxford Initiative in Oxford, the Urban Studies Foundation in Scotland, the American Council of Learned Societies African Humanities Program in New York, the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva and the University of Ghana, Legon. He was at different times, Visiting Scholar and Guest Lecturer at the African Studies Centre, Oxford University, Department of African Studies and Anthropology, University of Birmingham, the Centre for African Studies, SOAS University of London, the  African Studies Centre, Cambridge University, the University of Ibadan, Nigeria and the University of Ghana, Legon. He was Head of the Department of History and International Studies from 2017 - 2022. He is author of A History of Aviation in Nigeria  1925-2005 (2008), Matrix of Inherited Identity: A Historical Exploration of the Underdog Phenomenon in Nigeria's Relationship Strategy 1960-2011 (2016) and co-edited For Nature and For People: The Story of the Nigerian Conservation Foundation since 1980 (2007). He recently completed a book manuscript titled Selfie: Everyday agency in everyday people in colonial Lagos  1940-1960. His articles have appeared in History in Africa, AFRICA: The Journal of the International African Institute, Journal of Asian and African Studies, the SAGE Encyclopedia of World Poverty, Vestiges Traces of Record and a number of other journals. He is at present the Principal Investigator of Nigerian Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) Institutional Based Research on the assessment of value preferences among children and adolescents in south west Nigeria. He is also Co-Investigator, United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO)- International Fund for Cultural Diversity (IFCD)-Osun State University (UNIOSUN) Project on Empowering Women and Youth Entrepreneurship through Yoruba Oral Arts in Southwest Nigeria.

Prof. Olatunde , Ganiyu Olatunji ia an experienced scholar and award winning Lecturer in Applied Entomology, a member Entomological Society of Nigeria, Nigerian Society of Plant Protection and Agricultural Society of Nigeria. He has been actively involved in many professional development activities which are research studies on problems of stored foods and cash crops, and pest control/fumigation services for companies and government parastatals.

Prof. Ganiyu Olatunji OLATUNDE is a Professor of Entomology. He has a B. Sc. Degree Second Class Upper in Zoology of the University of Lagos and an M. Sc. in Agricultural Biology and PhD n Agriculture, both of the University of Ibadan. He was a Research Officer I at the Nigerian Stored Products Research Institute, Lagos and a Research Fellow of the International Institute for Tropical Research, Ibadan.

He joined the University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (UNAAB) as a Lecturer II (Entomology) in 1989 and rose to the position of as Associate Professor before he was appointed a Professor of Entomology by the Osun State University in 2009. A well experienced University scholar, Prof. Olatunde was a congregational representative on Senate, Member of the UNAAB Governing Council, Ag. Head of Department of Crop Protection, Deputy Dean, College of Plant Science and Crop Production, UNAAB, Coordinator, SIWES, Osun State University, Senate Representative on the Governing Council of the Osun State University, the Director, Academic Planning of the University and the Deputy Vice-Chancellor. He was also the Acting Vice-Chancellor of Osun State University before the second Vice-Chancellor was appointed.

Prof. Olatunde is an experienced Scholar in Applied Entomology, a member Entomological Society of Nigeria, Nigerian Society of Plant Protection and Agricultural Society of Nigeria. He has attended series of national and international training courses and conferences and has been actively involved in many professional development activities and research studies on problems of stored foods and cash crops, and pest control/fumigation services for companies and government parastatals.
