1. Contributions in the form of articles, notes or reviews should be double-spaced and sent by e-mail attachment in Microsoft Word or WordPerfect to
2. In the case of articles, an abstract of not more than 150 words should be submitted with the contribution. The author should also provide 5 key words.
3. All submissions should be original pieces that are written in a clear and straight forward language beginning each paragraph with topical sentences and writing in active voice only.
4. The title of every submission should be brief, attractive and accurate in describing what the paper is about. Headings and sub-headings within the text should be short and clear. Avoid too many levels of sub-headings
5. Double quotes should be used for primary quotations and single quotes for quotations within quotes. In general, use the following:
   • For dates, use 30 May, 2009, not 30th May or May 30, 2009
   • 2008-2009, not 2008-09
   • 21st century
   • pp.24-50 not 24-50, Pp. 24-50, p.24 et seq.
   • “e.g.” and “i.e.”, not “eg” or “ie”
   • Section and Article, not S., sec. or Art.
   • Italicise all Latin and other foreign language words
6. Books should be cited as follows:
   • Author (initials and last name), title (in italics), place of publication, name of publisher, year of publication, page number(s) with p. or pp. 
   • e.g. O.O. Oladele, Law of Business Associations in Nigeria, 2nd ed., Osogbo, Uniosun Press, 2009, pp.30-32
   • All the words in the book title, except minor form-words such as “by”, “an”, “a”, “the” etc, should have capital initials
   • For a chapter in a book: A. Uchegbu, "Transboundary Movements of Hazardous Waste in International Law" in J.A. Omotola (ed.) (or K. Ogen and O.O. Oladele (eds.), for more than one editor), Environmental Accountability, Lagos, Faculty of Law, University of Lagos, (1990), p. 206 
7. Articles should be cited as follows:
   • Author (initials and last name), title (in double quotes not underlined), title of serial publication (in italics), year of publication (in brackets), volume, number, page number(s) e.g. K. Ogen, “Legal intricacies in hospital bed-care in Nigeria,” Journal of African Law (2008) 12(1), pp. 1-4. (Cite journals with peculiar mode of citation in the journal’s mode)
   • Volume and Number of a journal may be cited as 19(1) for Volume 19, Number 1
   • Title of statutes in the text should be given in full (after which subsequent reference may be abbreviated. Once the acronyms are properly placed immediately in brackets and in italics, (i.e. Companies and Allied Matters Act (CAMA), CAMA may then be used in the text in subsequent reference to this statute. In the footnote, cite the statute as Companies and Allied Matters Act, Cap. C20 Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004, Section 18. CAMA may be used in subsequent reference. For example, See CAMA, Section 63(2)
8. Cases should be cited in the official mode of citation of the Law Report. Otherwise, cite as year, volume number (if any) initials of report, page, e.g. [2008] 2 All N.L.R. 20 at 21. 
   
   The name(s) of cases except the connecting “v.” should be in italics, e.g. Davies v. Fekumo.
9. Employ footnotes, numbered consecutively, not end notes.
10. Articles and other submissions are accepted on the understanding that they are not being considered concurrently by any other journal. Disks and hardcopies cannot be returned.
11. Articles and other submissions are accepted on the understanding that the author(s) has/have assigned exclusive copyright to the UNIOSUN LAW JOURNAL
12. The authors have the responsibility to ensure that the material submitted does not infringe copyright and is not obscene, defamatory or otherwise litigious or unlawful
13. The Editorial Board is not responsible for any views that the contributors express.

SUBMISSIONS
Articles and other submissions are sent to three independent referees. For impartiality and anonymity, the name(s) of the author(s) should be typed on a separate sheet as cover to the submission. The sheet should also indicate the academic qualifications, address or institutional affiliation, telephone number, e-mail address and other relevant identification of the authors.
