International Research Review IRR was founded in 2009 in the College of Education in 2009. The UNIOSUN Journal of Teaching and Learning of the Faculty of Education, Osun State University was established in 2016. Both journals are independent, peer-reviewed journal. Issued one time per year. It is a medium for the scholars from different institution of learning to publish their research findings. The journals pride are on quality and has an editorial team with a wealth of experience and expertise in education research.

For admission into any of the first degree programmes of the University, a candidate shall be required to possess the following minimum qualifications:
- Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSCE) or its equivalents with credit level passes in five (5) subjects at not more than two sittings. The candidate must also earn an acceptable score in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
- Candidates seeking admission by direct entry into the 200 level, must have at least five (5) O/L credits, two of which must be at Advanced Level or approved equivalents.

Philosophy
The Programmes are being undertaken to produce the right caliber of committed professionals in the area of education biology, chemistry, physics and mathematics in the right quality and quantity in order to meet the national needs and contribute to the achievement of the national goals on education particularly at the secondary school level. Teacher trainees at the end of programme should be capable of effectively teaching all components of biology in the secondary, as the programme aims at providing prospective teachers with solid background knowledge in the subject. To this end, the programme is set to achieve the following objectives.
Objectives
At the end of the programme the students should be able to:
- view biology as a process of inquiry into the living world.
- develop in students power of accurate observation and provide a framework into which their observed facts can be fitted.
- Ability to develop functional knowledge of chemistry concept and principles.
- Ability to observe and explore the chemical environment.
- Ability to apply the skills and knowledge gained through the study of chemistry to solve day to day problem.
- Ability to develop functional knowledge of Mathematics concept and principles.

Introduction
The Department of Science, Technology and Mathematics Education is one of the two pioneer departments in the College of Education of Osun State University. The Department was established at the inception of the University on September 21, 2007. The Department offers four-degree programme namely; B.Sc. (Ed.) Biology, B. Sc. (Ed.) Chemistry, B. Sc. (Ed.) Mathematics and B.Sc. (Ed.) Physics. The academic staff are supported by Technologists and Laboratory Assistants/ Attendants at the College of Science, Engineering and Technology since the Department utilizes laboratory resources and personnel at the College of Science, Engineering and Technology for the practical components of its courses. The laboratories are well equipped to cope with teaching of the students and for the use of academic staff for research purposes. The Department also has a Departmental Secretary and an Office Assistant.
Students are admitted into five and four years programmes based on the following criteria:
- UME: Five Year Programme
Five credit passes including English Language and Mathematics at the SSCE or equivalent are required for guidance and Counselling in addition to acceptable pass in University Post JAMB screening exercise and UME.
- Direct Entry: four year programme
The requirements for admission and graduation are as applicable to other education programmes.
B.Ed. Guidance and Counselling
Philosophy
The philosophy and objectives of the B.Ed. Guidance and Counselling Degree programmes include the acquisition of appropriate counselling skills, abilities and competences, such that the prospective trainee counsellor would better understand human behaviour and interrelationships.

The specific objectives of the programme are to:
- Train Counselling Psychologists who are to acquire skills that can enhance the improvement and maintenance of human relationships in all spheres of human interaction, increase capability to cope with stresses and demands of everyday living.
- Provide quality programmes that will be second to none in Nigeria for meeting the prescribed guidelines and objectives of NPE’
- Contribute positively to the proper educational, vocational personal and social development of young Nigerians.

The Department of Guidance and Counselling took off as a programme in the Department of Arts and Social Science Education, after resource verification, during 2014/2015 Academic Session. The programme started as a four-year Degree programme with options in Seven (7) teaching subjects: Economics, English, Political Science, Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics. The Department operate academic curricula that are tailored along the stipulations contained in the National Universities Commission (NUC) Benchmark Minimum Academic Standards.
Presently, the Department runs both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
- Undergraduate degree: B.Ed. (Guidance and Counselling)
- Postgraduate degrees M.Ed. and M.Phil. /Ph.D. degree in Guidance and Counselling
Candidates must have obtained, in not more than two sittings, Credit level passes in five or more subjects at G.C.E. O’ Level (WAEC, NECO, NBTE or equivalent) or at least merit in Teachers’ Grade II Certificate Examinations. The subjects passed at the credit level (or at least merit level in Teachers Grade II Certificate Examination) must include Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English Language, in addition to an acceptable level of performance in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). The UTME subjects must include English Language, Physics, Biology and Chemistry.
Direct Entry
Candidates who satisfy the O’ Level or Teachers’ Grade II requirement mentioned in (a) above and in addition have the following qualifications may be given direct entry admission into 200 level. Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) or its equivalent in Environmental Education (single or double major) with an overall grade of at least a Merit. Ordinary National Diploma (OND) in Environmental Education with a minimum overall grade of Lower Credit. Passes at A ‘Level of G.C.E. or equivalent in Mathematics plus at least one of the following subjects: Physics, Biology and Chemistry.

Introduction
The Department of Environmental Education of Osun State University came to being during the 2022/2023 academic session. The Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Education Programme seeks to produce graduates who are worthy in character and learning, as well as being policymakers who are committed to ensuring sustainable management of the environment in Nigeria.
Candidates are to possess School Certificate/GCE with passes at Credit Level or above in five subjects including English Language and Mathematics obtained in not more than two (2) sittings or ii) Teachers’ Grade II Certificate with passes at Credit or Merit Level in five subjects, including English Language and Mathematics. The philosophy of the B.Ed. Educational Technology is centered on the promotion of the study of Educational Technology and its cognate subjects as academic disciplines in an effort to satisfy the dire need for qualified teachers for the effective implementation of the National Policy on Education at the post-primary school level.
