FATOKUN Olusakin M.

Engr. Muyiwa Olusakin FATOKUN hails from Gbongan, in Ayedaade local government of Osun State. He holds a Bachelor of Technology degree in Computer Engineering with Second Class Upper Division from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso in 2003 and Masters of Science.
Degree in Computer Science from University of Ilorin in 2018. He is a Chartered Information Technology Specialist (C.ITP) and Member, Computer Professionals Registration Council of Nigeria (CPN). He is a Certified Computer Engineer by Council for Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN). He is also a member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) and Member, Nigeria Computer Society (NCS).
He began his software engineering career in 2004 from Ladoke Akintola University, Ogbomoso, almost immediately he bagged his first degree in 2003 from the same University. And because his final year project in software engineering was found very useful to his Alma mater, he was offered his first appointment as a System Programmer. He was able to develop a robust student record management system for Admissions Office and Transcript Application Package for Exams and Records of Academic Affairs Unit of LAUTECH.
Out of his patriotism and volition to serve his state better, he willingly withdrew his service from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso to join Osun State University in 2009 and he has risen to the position of Acting Director, Information Management and Technology Centre (IMTC) under the Office of the Vice Chancellor. IMTC is a centre whose core responsibility is to co-pilot the affairs of the University operations in an advance information, communication and technology way to ensure a seamless automation in each of the university activities in this digital age.
Under his watch as the Acting Director of IMTC, COVID 19 was not able to stop UNIOSUN from academic activities in that, UNIOSUN became one of the leading universities in the country to conduct examination, matriculation ceremony and hold convocation ceremony virtually.
Under his watch as the Acting Director of IMTC and with the full support of the visionary and technologically-inclined Vice Chancellor, Prof. Odunayo Clement Adebooye, all the six campuses of the Osun State University and Isale-Osun College of Health sciences in Osogbo were networked and lectures are being delivered interactively virtually.
Engr. Muyiwa Olusakin FATOKUN believed in the legacy of building human capacity and as such, while some other universities with big name are out-sourcing their E-Portals to manage the activities of the university operations, 98% of the of the software and E-Portals in UNIOSUN were developed in-house to give room for easy maintenance and to reduce over-dependency on the out-source vendors.
He has received a lot of encomium and commendation letters almost every year from the Management of the University for a Job well done in his chosen career.
