THREE UNIOSUN ALUMNAE ACHIEVE FIRST-CLASS HONOURS IN LAW SCHOOL

Three alumnae of Osun State University have bagged First-Class Honours in the recently released final bar examination results of the Nigerian Law School.This information was disclosed in a statement released by the University's Public Relations’ Officer, Ademola Adesoji, on Monday, February 19, 2024.

The statement reads, "Three of our Alumni, Mariam Temitope Gbadegesin, Salimat Jokotade Badejoko, and Ikeola Dorcas Atilola, have been announced by the Council for Legal Education as part of the 251 candidates who earned First-Class Honours grade out of the 5,308 who sat for the final bar examination. Among our forty-nine alumni who participated in the final examinations, over 40% secured Second Class Upper Honours, while over 53% attained Second Class lower grades. The Council also disclosed that 604 candidates, amounting to 11% of the total, will re-sit the examination at a later date, with no single UNIOSUN alumnus included.

"The Vice-Chancellor, Professor ‘Ayo Clement Adebooye, on behalf of Council, Senate, Staff, and Students of the University, commends their hard work and dedication, congratulates them, and is pleased with their outstanding performance at the final bar examination. The Vice-Chancellor also notes that their achievement is a testament to the relentless efforts of our faculty members and the conducive learning environment at UNIOSUN.

"At UNIOSUN, we are committed to nurturing and empowering all our students, irrespective of gender, to excel in their chosen fields. It is particularly noteworthy that all three top achievers are women, breaking barriers and setting an inspiring example for young women pursuing careers in law. The success of Mariam, Salimat, and Ikeola is a source of pride for the entire UNIOSUN community, and we look forward to witnessing their future accomplishments," Adesoji added.

Osun State University has a history of exemplary performance at the Nigerian Law School. In 2017, two of its alumni, Abiodun Rufai and Tumininu Odunuga, achieved First-Class honours at the Nigerian Law School, while Oluwabusola Mary attained first class in the 2022 Bar Part II final examinations.
