He joined Osun State University as an Associate Professor in 2016, and was promoted to the position of a full Professor in 2019. He is a member of a number of Professional Bodies such as Association of Nigerian Geographers, Union for African Population Studies (UEPA/UAPS), Nigerian Institute of Town Planners, etc. His research efforts have been in the area of urban geography/planning, urbanization, environment, transport, housing and gender. His works have been with particular interest in the interrelation of urban society, practice and space, that is, (urban) place, people and practice.

ASIYANBOLA Raimi Abidemi. holds B.Sc. (Hons) in Geography from Obafemi Awolowo University, Nigeria; Master of Urban and Regional Planning (MURP) degree and PhD degree from University of Ibadan, Nigeria. He worked at Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye, Nigeria, as Assistant Lecturer in 1993 and rose within the ranks to the position of Reader in 2013.
