Cash Office Unit

The Cash Office Unit of the Osun State University Bursary Department is responsible for managing treasury payment operations, revenue processing, financial documentation and institutional cash management. The unit ensures proper handling of financial transactions, compliance with government financial regulations and accurate reporting of university financial activities.

Functions and Responsibilities

Payment Processing

  • Preparation of payment schedules to banks.
  • Writing and processing of cheques for approved payments.
  • Collection of monthly bank statements from university banks.

Receipts & Revenue Collection

  • Issuing official receipts to staff, students and contractors.
  • Maintaining financial documentation for revenue transactions.

Financial Records Management

  • Maintenance of registers and posting of payment vouchers using ADMON.
  • Supporting cashbook management during bank reconciliation.

Regulatory & Audit Liaison

  • Liaising with external auditors during financial audit investigations.
  • Supporting preparation of accounts for statutory auditing.

Statutory Payments

  • Processing pension deductions.
  • Payment of tax deductions to FIRS and State Internal Revenue Services.

Grant & Institutional Payments

  • Working with the State Secretariat for grant disbursement.
  • Preparation of NEEDS Assessment payment schedules with the Central Bank of Nigeria.

Imprest & Financial Monitoring

  • Management of the University Central Imprest.
  • Providing weekly balances on University IGR accounts to the Bursar and Vice-Chancellor.

Administrative Reporting

  • Preparation of financial reports for management.
  • Performing other financial duties as assigned by the Bursar.
